A series of serendipitous events led to Victoria's life of artistic pursuit. Being selected for Saturday morning art classes at the London Public Library and Gallery led to her participation in a world-wide children's art competition where she won the prestigious Nehru prize.
Many accolades followed in her art education and Victoria began a successful career as a graphic designer and marketing consultant. 20 years of professional practice was eventually interrupted as fate, once again, dictated a new path to fine art.
While living and establishing a studio in Waterloo her work appeared in solo exhibits, group shows and studio tours. Victoria's painting 'Here and There' won an award of excellence with the Canadian Society of Painter's in Watercolour. The following year she was again juried into the C.S.P.W. Annual Exhibit. In addition to her own successful shows, Victoria's work has appeared in The Kitchener Art Gallery, Glynhurst Gallery, The London Art Gallery, The Homer Watson Gallery, The Kelowna Art Gallery et al. As shown in the accompanying exhibit of her work, Victoria's paintings reside in collections in Canada, the United States and further afield.
For many years, teaching art at numerous venues has been yet another success story for both Victoria and many of her students who have gone on to exhibit their work. Her patience and hands-on approach have helped hundreds of students to achieve immediate positive results in their artistic journeys.
Victoria is ready to share her ideas and talents with accomplished or beginner artists. She will be teaching in watercolour but you may create with paint, brush, camera or pencil. The basics are all the same. it is always interesting to experience what others feel is their way to express their talent.
This is Victoria's third travelling workshop with Going Places Together. Join her in discovering new, exciting places, people and intriguing objects to paint!
