Day 1: Sept. 26 (Saturday) Your home city to
Tokyo
Today, you will
board overnight trans-Pacific flight from home city to Tokyo.
Day 2: Sept. 27 (Sunday) Arrive in Tokyo (Welcome
Dinner)
On
arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Join your
group for your welcome dinner. Your adventure has be gone. Welcome
to Japan!
Hotel: Shinagawa Prince Hotel (Main Tower) or similar
Day 3: Sept. 28 (Monday) Tokyo (Breakfast/Lunch)
Today you will have a full
day tour in Tokyo. Your morning includes, a visit to The Meiji
Jingu Shrine, Imperial Palace (photo stop), Sensoji Temole (Asakusa
Kannon) & Nakamise
Shopping Arcade. After lunch, board the Symphony cruise ship for
an afternoon cruise of Tokyo Bay.
Day 4: Sept. 29 (Tuesday) Tokyo (Breakfast)
Whole
day free at leisure. This is a chance to catch up on some sleep
that you may feel after your long flight is necessary or meet your
tour escort and do some shopping or personal touring. By this time
you will have noticed something that you wanted to explore. This
is your opportunity.
Day 5: Sept. 30 (Wednesday) Tokyo (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Today you will enjoy a full
day excursion to Nikko by motor coach. Visit Nikko Toshogu Shrine
and Iroha Zaka zigzag driveway up to the mountains. After a Japanese-style
lunch at local restaurant, visit Lake Chuzenji and Kegonno Taki
Waterfall.
Day 6: Oct. 01 (Thur.) Tokyo - Mt. Fuji -
Hakone (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Transfer by coach to the foot of Mt. Fuji via expressway. Then
drive halfway up Japan's highest mountain to enjoy a spectacular
view from a height of 2,300 meters. Enjoy Japanese-style lunch.
Afternoon, proceed to Hakone for a cruise on Lake Ashi (Ashinoko
Yuransen) and Mt. Komagatake Ropeway. Sukiyaki dinner and accommodation
at Hakone Kowaki-en Hotel.
Day 7: October 02 (Friday) Hakone - Kyoto - Nara - Kyoto
by train (Breakfast/Lunch)
Your morning drive will take you to Odawara where you will board
the Shinkansen train transfer to Kyoto. In Kyoto you will partake
in a full afternoon tour to Nara, the first permanent capital
of Japan. Visit Todaiji Temple housing a great image of Buddha,
colorful Kasuga Taisha Shrine with 3,000 lanterns, and Nara Park
(Deer Park) where many tame deer freely roaming. Return to Kyoto.

Day 8: October 03 (Saturday) Kyoto (Breakfast/Lunch)
Morning sightseeing of Kyoto, visiting Kinkakuji Temple (Golden
Pavilion), Nijo Castle noted for its gorgeous interiors, (When
Nijo Castle is closed, visit Ryoanji Temple instead) and Kitano
Tenmangu Shrine. After lunch, sightseeing of the city visiting
Sanjusangendo Temple with its 1,001 impressive images of Buddha,
vermilion-hued Heian Jingu Shrine and Kiyomizudera Temple with
its wooden veranda.
Day 9: October 04 (Sunday) Kyoto - Osaka by train (Breakfast/Lunch)
Today take a short local JR train to Osaka. Visit Aerial Garden
Observatory and Osaka Castle, noted for its magnificence and immense
stones used in its construction. Enjoy a 60-minute boat ride with
passing views of Osaka Castle, Twin Towers, City Hall on Nakanoshima
Isle. Return to Kyoto by train.
Day 10: October 05 (Monday) Kyoto – Takayama, Gifu by train (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Walk from your hotel to Kyoto JR station. Take a Shinkansen bullet
train for Nagoya. Transfer to a limited-express Hida for Takayama,
an ancient, tranquil city called "Little Kyoto". Afternoon,
stroll through Takayama, visiting Yatai Kaikan Hall, where colorfully
decorated traditional festival floats are displayed; Kusakabe Folk
Craft Museum, formerly the residence of powerful merchants under
government patronage; and the streets of Kami Sannomachi, which
preserve traditional Japanese wooden houses.

Day 11: October 06 (Tues.) Takayama-Shirakawago-Kanazawa
by train (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
This morning you will visit the famous morning market of Takayama.
Then take a scenic drive by Lake Miboro and along Shokawa River
to Shirakawago, designated in 1995 as part of the World Heritage.
Its highlights are unique structures called Gassho-Zukuri, or joined-hands
farmhouses. Visit Gokayama, another World Heritage village,
where you can experience making Gokayama Washi, traditional Japanese
paper. Continue to Kanazawa.

Day 12: October 07 (Wednesday) Kanazawa-Tokyo
by train (Breakfast)
Today your morning sightseeing in Kanazawa is by coach, visiting
Kenrokuen Garden, one of Japan's three most beautiful traditional
gardens; Kutaniyaki Pottery Kiln; and Higashi-chaya street, former
guest house “Shima”.
Transfer to Kanazawa station and return to Tokyo by Shinkansen
in the afternoon. .

Day 13: October 08 (Thursday) Tokyo -Seoul by
air (Breakfast/Dinner)
Your morning is at leisure. This afternoon you will
transfer to the airport for your flight to Seoul. It is highly
recommended that you take a subway train from your hotel in the
early morning to visit Fish Wholesale Market in Ginza district.
On arrival in Seoul you will be met and transfer to your hotel.
Dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 14: October 09 (Friday) Seoul (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Your half-day sightseeing begins with a visit to Gyeongbok Royal
Palace and the Folk Museum; drive by the Presidential Residence
and the Blue House and on to the Jogyesa Temple, a Buddhist temple
famous for its annual Lantern Festival. You will be dropped off
at Itaewon shopping area for some time to shop. A local lunch en-route
will be arranged. This afternoon you will enjoy a Korean food cooking
class.

Day 15: October 10 (Saturday) Seoul-Gyeongju
by train (Breakfast/Dinner)
This morning you will travel on the Saemaeul Train to Geongju which
was the capital of the Shilla Kingdom for over 1,000 years. On
arrival you will be transfered to your hotel.
Hotel: Gyeongju Commodore Hotel or similar for
2 nights.
Day 16: October 11 (Sunday) Gyeongju (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Today you will tour to Gyeongju, known as Museum
without Walls, which was capital of the Silla Kingdom for over
1,000 years. Visit Seokguram Grotto and Bulguksa Temple, a UNESCO
World Heritage Site, National Museum, Cheomseongdae, Asia’s
oldest observatory and the famous Bomun Lake Resort.
Day 17: October 12 (Monday) Gyeongju-Busan by coach (Breakfast/Lunch)
Your trip from Gyeongju to Busan will take approx. 90 minutes.
Gyeongju is the second largest city in South Korea with over 4
million residents. On arrival, you will tour the city of
Busan including Busan Tower, Taejongdae, a Park famous for its
rock beach and the Jagalchi Fishery market, largest seafood market
in Korea.
Overnight at Busan Commodore Hotel.
Day 18: October 13 (Tuesday) Busan-Seoul by
train (Breakfast)
Today you will return to Seoul by train.
On arrival you will be met and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon
is free for your shopping.

Day 19: October 14 (Wednesday) Seoul -DMZ excursion (Breakfast/Lunch/Farewell
Dinner)
Today you will have one day excursion from Seoul to DMZ area. Korea
is the only divided country in the world. After the Korean War
(June 25, 1950), South Korea and North Korea negotiated and then
designated the DMZ [demilitarized zone] 2km away from the truce
line on each side of the border. As one of the last relics of the
Cold War, the DMZ attracts a great deal of public interest. Korea
DMZ tourist sites have been created to quench people’s curiosity
on this unique area where tension and peace coincide.
Day 20: October 15 (Thursday) Seoul - Toronto
( or your home Canadian city) via Tokyo (Breakfast)
This morning you will board your transfer and return to Incheon
Airport for your return flight to Canada.
