Itinerary:

Day 01
Saturday Depart Canada
Today, you will board your overnight trans-Pacific flight from Toronto (or your home city) to Tokyo.

Day 02 Sunday Arrive in Tokyo 
(Dinner)
On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Join felllow travelers for a special welcome dinner. Your adventure has begun!

Day 03 Monday Tokyo
(Breakfast/Lunch)
Today enjoy a full day tour of Tokyo. Your morning includes a visit to The Meiji Jingu Shrine, Imperial Palace (a quick stop for photos), Sensoji Temole (Asakusa Kannon) & Nakamise Shopping Arcade. After lunch, board the Symphony cruise ship for an afternoon cruise of Tokyo Bay.

Day 04 Tuesday Tokyo
(Breakfast)
Today you are free to explore on your own or with your tour escort. Tokyo is one of the world's most modern and exciting cities and this is your chance to spend the day is a chance to catch up on some sleep that you may feel after your long flight is necessary or meet your tour escort and do some shopping or personal touring. By this time you will have noticed something that you wanted to explore. This is your opportunity.

Day 05 Wednesday Tokyo
(Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner) Today you will enjoy a full day excursion to Nikko by motor coach. Visit Nikko Toshogu Shrine and Iroha Zaka zigzag driveway up to the mountains. After a Japanese-style lunch at local restaurant, visit Lake Chuzenji and Kegonno Taki Waterfall.

Day 06 Thursday Tokyo - Mt. Fuji - Hakone
(Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Transfer by coach to the foot of Mt. Fuji via expressway. Then drive halfway up Japan's highest mountain to enjoy a spectacular view from a height of 2,300 meters. Enjoy Japanese-style lunch. Afternoon, proceed to Hakone for a cruise on Lake Ashi (Ashinoko Yuransen) and Mt. Komagatake Ropeway. 
Overnight: Hakone Kowaki-en Hotel.

Day 07 Friday Hakone - Kyoto - Nara - Kyoto by train
(Breakfast/Lunch)
Your morning drive will take you to Odawara where you will board the Shinkansen train transfer to Kyoto. In Kyoto you will partake in a full afternoon tour to Nara, the first permanent capital of Japan. Visit Todaiji Temple housing a great image of Buddha, colorful Kasuga Taisha Shrine with 3,000 lanterns, and Nara Park (Deer Park) where many tame deer freely roaming. Return to Kyoto.

Overnight: Kyoto New Miyako Hotel or similar

Day 08 Saturday Kyoto
(Breakfast/Lunch)
Morning sightseeing of Kyoto, visiting Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion), Nijo Castle noted for its gorgeous interiors, (When Nijo Castle is closed, visit Ryoanji Temple instead) and Kitano Tenmangu Shrine. After lunch, sightseeing of the city visiting Sanjusangendo Temple with its 1,001 impressive images of Buddha, vermilion-hued Heian Jingu Shrine and Kiyomizudera Temple with its wooden veranda.


Day 09 Sunday Kyoto - Osaka by train
(Breakfast/Lunch)
Today take a short local JR train to Osaka. Visit Aerial Garden Observatory and Osaka Castle, noted for its magnificence and immense stones used in its construction. Enjoy a 60-minute boat ride with passing views of Osaka Castle, Twin Towers, City Hall on Nakanoshima Isle. Return to Kyoto by train.

Day 10
Monday Kyoto – Takayama, Gifu by train
(Breakfast/Lunch/Dinnner)
Walk from your hotel to Kyoto JR station. Take a Shinkansen bullet train for Nagoya. Transfer to a limited-express Hida for Takayama, an ancient, tranquil city called "Little Kyoto". Afternoon, stroll through Takayama, visiting Yatai Kaikan Hall, where colorfully decorated traditional festival floats are displayed; Kusakabe Folk Craft Museum, formerly the residence of powerful merchants under government patronage; and the streets of Kami Sannomachi, which preserve traditional Japanese wooden houses.
Accommodation Honjin Hiranoya Bekkan Ryokan, a traditional Japanese local hotel which represents the very essence of Japan and is surely the accommodation of choice if you wish to personally experience the uniqueness of Japan - the architecture lifestyle, nature, traditions and culture. It offers a splendid opportunity to familiarize yourself with the spirit of Japanese
hospitality and graceful customs.

Day 11 Tuesday Takayama-Shirakawago-Kanazawa by train
(Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
This morning you will visit the famous morning market of Takayama. Then take a scenic drive by Lake Miboro and along Shokawa River to Shirakawago, designated in 1995 as part of the World Heritage. Its highlights are unique structures called Gassho-Zukuri, or joined-hands farmhouses. Visit Gokayama, another World Heritage village, where you can experience making Gokayama Washi, traditional Japanese paper. Continue to Kanazawa.

Day 12 Wednesday Kanazawa-Tokyo by train
(Breakfast)
Today your morning sightseeing in Kanazawa is by coach, visiting Kenrokuen Garden, one of Japan's three most beautiful traditional gardens; Kutaniyaki Pottery Kiln; and Higashi-chaya street, former guest house “Shima”. Transfer to Kanazawa station and return to Tokyo by Shinkansen in the afternoon.

Day 13 Thursday Tokyo -Seoul by air
(Breakfast/Dinner)
Your morning is at leisure. This afternoon you will transfer to the airport for your flight to Seoul. It is highly recommended that you take a subway train from your hotel in the early morning to visit Fish Wholesale Market in Ginza district. On arrival in Seoul you will be met and transfer to your hotel.
Dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 14 Friday Seoul
(Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Your half-day sightseeing begins with a visit to Gyeongbok Royal Palace and the Folk Museum; drive by the Presidential Residence and the Blue House and on to the Jogyesa Temple, a Buddhist temple famous for its annual Lantern Festival. You will be dropped off at Itaewon shopping area for some time to shop. A local lunch en-route will be arranged. This afternoon you will enjoy a Korean food cooking class.

Overnight: The Hamilton

Day 15 Saturday Seoul-Gyeongju by train (Breakfast/Dinner)
This morning you will travel on the Saemaeul Train to Geongju which was the capital of the Shilla Kingdom for over 1,000 years. On arrival you will be transfered to your hotel.
Overnight: Gyeongju Commodore Hotel or similar for 2 nights.

Day 16 Sunday Gyeongju (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Today you will tour to Gyeongju, known as Museum without Walls, which was capital of the Silla Kingdom for over 1,000 years. Visit Seokguram Grotto and Bulguksa Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, National Museum, Cheomseongdae, Asia’s oldest observatory and the famous Bomun Lake Resort.

Day 17 Monday Gyeongju-Busan by coach (Breakfast/Lunch)
Your trip from Gyeongju to Busan will take approx. 90 minutes. Gyeongju is the second largest city in South Korea with over 4 million residents. On arrival, you will tour the city of Busan including Busan Tower, Taejongdae, a Park famous for its rock beach and the Jagalchi Fishery market, largest seafood market in Korea.
Overnight at Busan Commodore Hotel.

Day 18 Tuesday Busan-Seoul by train (Breakfast)
Today you will return to Seoul by train. On arrival you will be met and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon is free for your shopping.

Day 19 Wednesday Seoul - DMZ excursion (Breakfast/Lunch plus Farewell Dinner)
Today you will have one day excursion from Seoul to DMZ area. Korea is the only divided country in the world. After the Korean War (June 25, 1950), South Korea and North Korea negotiated and then designated the DMZ [demilitarized zone] 2km away from the truce line on each side of the border. As one of the last relics of the Cold War, the DMZ attracts a great deal of public interest. Korea DMZ tourist sites have been created to quench people’s curiosity on this unique area where tension and peace coincide.

Day 20 Thursday Seoul - Toronto (or your home Canadian city) via Tokyo (Breakfast)
This morning you will board your transfer and return to Incheon Airport for your return flight to Canada.
