Day 01 - June 13, 2019 -  Arrive in Toronto 
An evening to get acquainted with those joining you on this adventure.
Overnight: Hilton Garden Inn Airport, Toronto

Day 02 - June 14, 2019  - Toronto   
This morning, an opportunity to see Toronto on a guided city tour.  See the famous TORONTO sign, City Hall, Queens Park, the CN Tower and so much more.  Later a visit to Casa Loma the home of Lady Pellat the first commissioner of Girl Guides of Canada.  Your self guided tour will allow you time to view and enjoy the display on girl guides.

Day 03 - June 15, 2019 - Kingston 
Discover more of Ontario as we travel east along the 401, officially known as the Macdonald–Cartier Freeway.  We’ll exit the 401 and travel the historic Loyalist parkway through scenic Prince Edward County, an island on the north shore of Lake Ontario. The County is quickly becoming a top culinary and winery destination as well as the newest community to establish a Barn Quilt Trail, a network of rural art. Enjoy a tour and tasting at one of local wineries followed by lunch. Prior to boarding the Glenora Ferry for the short trip across the Bay of Quinte, we stop at Lake on the Mountain, one of Ontario’s natural wonders. Our journey continues along the shore of Lake Ontario to the historic city of Kingston.

Day 04 - June 16, 2019 - Ottawa
After breakfast a local guide will highlight the sights and sounds of Kingston.  See Old Fort Henry and hear the importance this historic site held for the city.  See the Military College, the City Hall, the old Kingston Penitentiary, the John A Macdonald house and more. Later we travel along the shore highway to the community of Gananoque, Gateway to the 1000 Islands. Here we set out on a one-hour cruise that takes you closer than any other cruise available in the 1000 Islands.  See fifth and sixth generation family cottages and cruise the narrow channels of the Admiralty and Navy group of islands.  A light lunch will be served on boarding. On return to shore, we continue to Ottawa, our Nation’s Capital.

Day 05 - June 17, 2019 - Ottawa 
There’s no end to the sights to be seen in the Capital city.  A local guide will highlight several of these on a guided city tour that will also include a tour of Center Block of Parliament Hill (subject to availability).  See 24 Sussex Drive, Rideau Hall, diplomatic Embassy’s, the National Art Gallery and so much more! We end the tour at the Rideau Centre and Byward Market allowing for free time to do some shopping and get a bite to eat before we set out on a sightseeing cruise along the historic Rideau Canal. *Centre Block tour subject to availability.

Day 06 - June 18, 2019 - Parry Sound 
This morning your journey continues west through the iconic Algonquin Park. Along the Highway 60 corridor within Algonquin Park, there are facilities that will introduce you to the human and natural history of the area. We’ll stop at the Visitor Centre which houses world class exhibits on the Park's natural and human history. Enjoy lunch on your own in their onsite restaurant. A theatre presentation sums up the Park story and then directs you out to the deck for a panoramic view of the wild Algonquin landscape.  Keep your eye alert for wildlife as we continue through the Park, exiting near the community of Huntsville and continuing across scenic Hwy 141 to Parry Sound.

Day 02 - June 14, 2019  - Toronto

Day 7 - June 19, 2019  - Sudbury 
This morning we travel through the French River Region. This river was the main Water Highway to the west in Canada from 1600 to the mid 1800's.  At the Visitor and Interpretive Centre, you have an opportunity to stroll throughout the displays that depict the remarkable history of the River and the region.   Walk the path behind the Center to the pedestrian bridge that spans River.  From here you can just imagine how it became a vital link in the voyageur’s history for explorers, missionaries and fur-traders alike. Next, we stop at the French River Trading Post. You’ll find Canadian-made moccasins, First Nations handicraft, and the famous Hudson Bay blankets and jackets.  An early lunch is available in the Hungry Bear Restaurant on your own before we continue a short distance to Sudbury and Laurentian University in time to register for the Gathering.

Day 7 to 10 - June 19 to 22, 2019  
4 nights at Laurentian University enjoying the National Trefoil Gathering. 

Day 11 - June 23, 2019  Manitoulin 
After lunch the convention draws to a close and we continue our Northern Ontario experience by travelling through the paper town of Espanola and on through the La Cloche Mountains to Manitoulin Island. Once we cross the historic Swing Bridge, the only land access to Manitoulin, you will find yourself on the largest fresh water Island in the world! Your evening is free to explore the peaceful waterfront of Little Current.

Day 12 - June 24, 2019 - Tobermory 
A relaxing morning before we set out with a local guide for a day of sightseeing. Not only is Manitoulin Island the largest fresh water Island in the World, it boasts more than 100 inland lakes between its shores. See evidence of the Niagara Escarpment in the rock bluffs; view the impressive Bridal Veil Falls and marvel at the fabulous view of Lake Huron from the bluffs above Gore Bay.  Watch for wildlife including the majestic Sand Hill Cranes, as the Island is their main eastern migratory stopover. Visit Lillian’s Crafts shop to see the one of a kind handmade Porcupine Quill Boxes and then to the inspirational Immaculate Conception Church, built in the round.  See the beaches of Providence Bay as well as the massive mural that depicts wildlife on Manitoulin. Lunch is included.  Later, we make our way to South Baymouth in time to board MS Chi Cheemaun for a two hour sailing across Georgian Bay to the community of Tobermory.

Day 13 - June 25, 2019 - Toronto 
Rise and shine to the fresh clean air of the Bruce Peninsula! Boasting the darkest sky's in southern Ontario, the area has been given the Unesco Biosphere Designation.  The Bruce is a naturalist haven boasting 2 national parks and is home to the highest concentration of native and rare orchids in North America, including the familiar Lady’s Slipper. There’s some time to explore Tobermory before a visit to the world class Visitor and Interpretive Centre.  Later we travel south through the scenic Bruce Peninsula, paralleling portions of the Niagara Escarpment.  A photo stop will be made in Wiarton for a glimpse of the statue dedicated to the infamous Wiarton Willie, the four-legged forecaster of spring!  Appropriate stops will be made before return to Toronto, bringing to an end your Northern Ontario experience.
